I wasn’t sure if I heard Marlon right when he was talking about Mandy Moore doing Umbrella at Music in the Park. But I guess she could have since Yahoo! has her doing a cover of that song. It doesn’t sound half bad.
But honestly, all I could think about as the video progressed was “Damn, how close do you need to be to the microphone?”
OK, last I heard, Facebook was the new MySpace. At least that was what I heard.
I then go surfing last night looking for Wordpress themes for my main blog and I stumble upon Virb. I thought, cool looking site and all, but wasn't sure what it was (plus, I was just looking for Wordpress themes). I then listen to the Mac Break Weekly and find out it's the Virb that is the new MySpace. (When is Vox getting into this mix? Yeah, I suppose they're not after the MySpace crowd, but Vox is pretty cool.)
So, of course I sign up. Not much there yet, but it's pretty cool and customizable as heck. Very Web 2.0. There's a good slant on music, photos and videos there. The basic design is clean, but like I mentioned, you can customize the style through WYSIWYG interface or through stylesheets and more. Pretty straightforward stuff. Give it a twirl.
I've been on Vox for a while now and I have enjoyed it. I've met new people and reconnected with old friends. But lately I've been yearning to go back to the my old Wordpress (WP) install at my domain. I think I miss the thing I used to complain about - maintaining a website! It's part of the reason why I haven't been posting often, because I have been prepping the WP install and cleaning up some pages on the Janella.com If you wish to continue to read most of my mundane blog postings then visit:
I
won't totally abandon Vox. I view my account like my Flickr account,
where I interact with new friends and acquaintances. I enjoy reading
all the postings from my neighbors here on Vox. They write so much
better than me! I will continue coming here daily - posting less often
but reading and commenting on others' postings.
